Each wooden cabinet is unique. After it has been milled from a block of beech wood on my CNC milling machine in a total of 8 steps, it is sanded and oiled twice by hand to achieve a smooth, supple surface. More than an hour of manual work goes into each wooden housing. Since 2024, the wooden housings have no longer been manufactured regularly. I decide by instinct if and when I want to make a batch of wooden cases, because when I do, I do it with the dedication that this special material deserves.
There are three different buttons to choose from:
BOX Royal Tactile Button – Strongly pronounced pressure point with an audible click at the bottom stop. Tends to develop a light click after some time of using them.
BOX Silent Button – Slightly pronounced pressure point. Silicone dampers reduce the noise, resulting in a rubbery sound’.
BOX Ocean Whale Button – Medium pressure point. Silicone dampers on the stamp reduce noise resulting in a rubbery sound. The noise is further reduced by an additional damper on the button housing. The button also has an LED light pipe, which means that the illumination of the key cap is limited to the upper area.

Safety instructions
Operating environment:
The device is only intended for the use described in the instructions. Carefully read all the information and instructions supplied before use.
The appliance may only be used in dry rooms within a temperature range of 0°C to 50°C. Operation in damp (washroom, swimming pool, etc.) or dusty environments or in the direct vicinity of heat sources (radiators, ovens, spotlights) is not permitted.
Furthermore, the device should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
ESD:
This device contains a microcontroller for signal processing and control functions. In very rare situations, strong interference, interference from an external source or static electricity can cause the device to block. In this unlikely event, switch the device off, wait at least five seconds and then switch it on again.
The device sockets should be protected against static discharge. The device should be unplugged during thunderstorms or when not in use to prevent damage from overvoltage.
Power supply:
Operation of the devices is only permitted on a regular USB interface. For operation using a USB power supply unit, ensure the correct voltage (max. 5V). Any warranty is excluded for damage caused by an external device, power supply unit or cable.
Mechanical influences:
Avoid dropping the appliance or exposing it to other mechanical influences that are not considered "normal" in the context of operation. The housing and the operating elements may be damaged.
Foreign objects and liquids:
Do not allow any objects or liquids to enter the inside of the housing. Any warranty is excluded for damage caused by foreign bodies or liquids.
If a device is damaged by liquid, disconnect the power supply immediately and dry the device thoroughly using suitable means. If in doubt, send the appliance in for servicing before putting it back into operation.
Repair:
Repairs under warranty can only be carried out by MIDICRAFT. In the event of a repair by a third party or own repair not authorized by MIDICRAFT, the warranty claim expires. Care and cleaning:
Only a dry, soft cloth or brush should be used for cleaning. Cleaning agents or water are not permitted for cleaning. If these are used, the warranty claim expires.
Risk of suffocation:
To avoid any risk of swallowing, the correct position of button, fader, potentiometer and encoder caps should be checked regularly. Loose screws must be tightened to prevent them from being lost.

Frequently asked questions
What software are the devices compatible with?
As long as the software has the ability to receive midi notes and assign functions, the devices work with it.
The midi feedback for LEDs only works as long as your software can issue the corresponding midi commands. In any case, you can use the LEDs statically to mark functions. You can adjust the color in the device menu and even emulate feedback.
Do you already know RD/Showcockpit? This makes it very easy to connect the MIDICRAFT controllers to various programs such as GrandMA2 and 3.
Are the devices compatible with my lighting console?
As long as your lighting console has the ability to receive midi notes and assign corresponding functions, the devices work with it. You can either connect it to a MIDI Din interface via USB or via the midi adapter cable available in the shop.

What kind of midi notes do the devices output?
The buttons send a NoteOn with Velocity 127 when pressed and a NoteOff with Velocity 0 when released.
The faders and potentiometers send velocity note values with 7-bit resolution 0-127 or a CC value with 14-bit resolution. You can configure the behavior for each analog control in the Midi-notes Options menu.
You can either operate the encoders in absolute mode, then they output velocity notes in 7-bit format. Or you can use them as relative encoders, then they output up/down commands. For further information, please take a look at the operating instructions.
Can I control the colors of the LEDs via midi?
Yes, it is possible to control the color, intensity and automatic flashing of the LEDs via MIDI. Just look at section 8 of the instruction manual.
